Basic Electrical for Fire Investigators
This program will be presented in two parts. Part one will be on “Electrical Aspects of Scene Examination” and will give an overview of building electrical components and then dive into differentiation between arc damage and melting, finishing off with an section on thorough arc mapping and how to begin to analyze the arc map for origin determination and fire flow. After a short break, the second part of the presentation will dive into typical appliances, commonalities in components and how those components work and sometimes fail.
